Advanced Spend Analytics is a powerful reporting tool that gives you detailed insights into your expenditure in Compleat.
You can reach Advanced Spend Analysis straight from your homepage, giving you instant access to reports on everything from your nominal spend over time & detailed supplier spend analysis, to line level data & the potential savings you could be making in a wide range of areas.
The Advanced Spend Analytics tool is split into four categories, each containing multiple reports visualized in tables & graphs:
- Spend (Spend Over Time, Site Analysis, Nominal Analysis)
- Suppliers (Supplier Spend, Categories)
- Live Level (Line Information, Line Data)
- Savings & Categorization (Savings, Categorization)
In this guide, we summarize the information available to you in each report, & give you tips on how to get the most out of your Advanced Spend Analytics reports.
Interacting with your reports
Drill down into a report
The small grey arrow in the top-left of a report means you can drill down into the nitty gritty data within a table in the report.
To do this, just double-click on a line in the table.
Export a report to Word, Powerpoint, PDF, or Excel
Click the three dots in the top-right corner of a table or graph within a report to download or export it.
Zoom in on a graph
Click and drag over an area of a graph to zoom in on the data.
You can return to the normal view by clicking Reset zoom in the top-right.
Filter a report
Some reports can be filtered by certain criteria to let you broaden or narrow the results according to your preferences.
The filter criteria vary between reports.
Explore a graph
Hovering over the results in one of the graphs shows you the specific figures behind the graph.
Email reports to your colleagues
Click the dotted menu in the top-right of a report category to instantly email a report to your colleagues.
Dashboard
The dashboard is the first thing you see when you open Advanced Spend Analytics.
It summarizes some of your key spending data to give you a quick overview of the status of your expenditure.
In your dashboard, you'll find a brief reminder of:
- The number of sites in your company
- Your company's total net spend
- How many documents your company has processed
- How many suppliers your company has used
You can also see graphs showing your total spend & potential savings per procurement category, alongside a graph showing your spend over time.
Spend
Spend Over Time
The Spend Over Time report presents your approved spend in Compleat over various time periods, breaking it down into spend by base total, base net total, & spend by each individual user.
You can use the filter tool in the top-right to narrow down or broaden the results you see in the report according to the year or procurement category.
Site Analysis
The Site Analysis report provides a useful breakdown of your company's spend across each of its sites, including the percentage of spent attributed to each site.
The Suppliers & Documents graph shows the number of documents (transactions in Compleat) & suppliers behind each site's total spend figure.
Nominal Analysis
The Nominal Analysis report shows the spend associated to your company's nominal codes.
Just like the Site Analysis report in the same category, the Nominal Analysis report breaks down the spend attributed to each nominal code by supplier & number of documents (transactions in Compleat).
Suppliers
Supplier Spend
The Supplier Spend report provides a list of every single supplier in your company, showing each supplier's procurement category, base total note, average invoice value, number of documents, & the date of the latest document recorded in Compleat.
You can double-click a supplier in this list to drill down to detail spend data, including document reference numbers, line descriptions, quantity & base net within each document, & document date.
The bar charts within the report show your top 10 suppliers based on spend & number of documents.
Categories
The Categories report within the Suppliers area shows your supplier spend attributed to each procurement category in both table & graph format.
You can double-click a procurement category in the report to drill down to the suppliers & invoice data behind the category's spend.
Line Level
Line Information
In the Line Information report, you can see the total supplier & document count within a year, including the number of line descriptions.
Line Data
This is a full view of your line level data in table format, showing supplier name, procurement category, document information like line descriptions & document quantity, as well as the financial value of each line.
Savings & Categorization
Savings
Here's where we show you the potential savings you could be making across each procurement category in your company.
See the base net total spend compared to the saving by percentage & figure, & explore a bar chart in which your savings are visualized from the highest potential savings to lowest per procurement category.
Categorization
This report simply shows you a handy list of your procurement categories & suppliers.
See how many suppliers are assigned to each category, & browse a full list of your suppliers, organized by procurement category.
